Project Title: Determining GWAS-nominated MIER family member 3 associated effects on breast cancer susceptibility and resistance

About the project: This project will evaluate the effects of breast cancer susceptibility gene editing on mammary gland morphology at stages of development relevant to breast disease. 

Intended outcomes: A major outcome will be new knowledge regarding mechanisms of genetically and environmentally associated breast cancer risk.

How funding from KY INBRE helps accomplish these goals: Funding from KY INBRE will allow us to investigate cellular structure of disease-resistant tissue using transmission electron microscopy.

Outside of the classroom/lab: I enjoy Kentucky outdoors with family and friends.
