Matthew Scheyer
Home institution: Campbellsville University
Year: Senior (graduating December 2022)
Research Site: University of Kentucky
What will I be researching: I will be researching PRL-3 with Trace Jolly at Dr. Blackburn's lab, at the University of Kentucky this summer. During this research I will gain valuable insight on how to transduce human cells with with mutated proteins, perform live cell microscopy, and how to perform xenographic studies.
Future plans/goals: I believe my future to hold a great many possibilities. However, I know my immediate future, after KY INBRE, to hold a continuation to the research I am performing at Dr. Sahu’s lab, where I am currently researching while waiting to start at Dr. Blackburn’s lab. Once I graduate in December of this year, I should have a graduate program lined up to start working on in order to further my education and experience in researching.
